You can also swim from other places on the island, but be careful with the sharp rocks. The water is clear and clean, but maybe a little cold for those who are frozen.

Tips on what to do is to visit Klädesholmen's museum Sillbua, which is located in an old herring factory from the 19th century. Here you can learn more about the island's history, herring fishing and herring conservation. You can also see old tools, machines and cans that were used in the herring industry. The museum also has a café where you can have coffee or a light lunch.

Restaurants available are Salt & Herring, as we mentioned earlier, and Holmen Street Kitchen, which is located by the bridge to the island. Here you can get a quick and easy meal, such as a hamburger, sausage or shrimp sandwich. Holmen's Gatukök also has ice cream, sweets and drinks for sale.
This is how you get to Klädesholmen
If you have a car, you can drive over the bridge from Tjörn to the island. There are parking spaces by the bridge or by the swimming area. If you go by bus, you can take StenX to Stenungsund and then change to TjörnX which goes to Klädesholmen. The buses run several times a day, but check the timetable before you travel.
