Own combination of training trip

If you would rather create your own itinerary for training in Bohuslän, there are also many opportunities to do so. For example, you can bring your own bike or rent a bike and explore the picturesque fishing communities along the West Coast, the winding roads and the dramatic cliffs along the coast. Or why not take a run along the sea, in the forest or on one of the many trails the hiking trails that are in the area? Things to think about when planning your own training trip

1. Preparation before the training trip

Other questions you can ask yourself are:

  • What is your reason for travel? Is it a pure training trip or a combination with a holiday with friends or family?
  • What type of training is your goal? Hard training or exercise and movement?
  • When in the year can you travel? When is the season for your sport? Are there training opportunities for this "off-season"?

2. Decide which destination you will visit

I obviously don't know what your training goals are and thus your requirements for the place you want to travel to. However, if the goal is to increase your exercise intensity for general well-being, a little research around the area you plan to visit will go a long way. Most municipalities in Bohuslän offer sports, exercise and outdoor activities, for example football, athletics, orienteering, horse riding, gymnastics, skiing, sailing, table tennis, tennis, shooting, dog classes, indoor bandy, golf, boule, mat curling, dance, walks, bowls, figure skating, and parkour. So just search online for local clubs that have spaces for it. If you find what you want, the job begins with finding accommodation for your stay.

If you feel like you don't have time to do a survey before your arrival, I can almost guarantee you that there often is local running loops on 5km, 10, km, or beautiful walks and footpaths, which are great for, for example, bare ground training on roller skis.
