ASTOL
Visit Åstol, which is an island in the middle of the sea. You have Marstrand in the south and Rönnäng in the north. Here I write what you should know before you visit Åstol.

The island is a typical fishing village with permanent residents since 1761, but now only 50 people live on the island year-round. If you come with your own boat, you can dock at the guest harbor or at one of the many piers around the island. Otherwise, I actually recommend visiting Åstol as a day trip. There are so many other great accommodations on nearby islands.

You can walk on Åstol, for a while
Åstol is a small island, only 0.5 square kilometers in size, but there is still a lot to see and do. You can walk around the island in an hour and enjoy the beautiful archipelago idyll with cliffs, sea and colorful houses. On the way you can visit the viewpoint and the lighthouse, which gives you a fantastic view of the islands and the water. You can also stop at Gallery Insight, where local artists exhibit their works.
Bathing is best done at Åstol if you find these places
If you want to take a dip in the salty water, you have several swimming spots to choose from at Åstol. One of them is The pier, where there is a wooden bridge to jump from. Another is Red Sea beachs, which got its name from the red algae that grow there. If you have children with you, you can go to west side of the island, where there is an outdoor gym, a bowling alley and an indoor pool that is slightly warmer than the sea.
Tips on what to do at Åstol
Just strolling around Åstol is an experience in itself. You can admire the typical archipelago houses and boats that lie in the harbor or at the docks. You can also have a coffee or a meal at one of the nice restaurants on the island. Åstol café offers homemade bread and ice cream, Åstol's trading booth has sandwiches and salads, and Åstol Smokehouse has smoked delicacies and concerts both in summer and winter.
This is how you get to Åstol
