You can hike along the Bohusleden
Rönnäng is part of the Bohusleden, a 37-mile hiking trail that stretches from Lindome in the south to Strömstad in the north. The Bohusleden runs through varied landscapes and offers many sights and experiences. From Rönnäng you can walk stage 13 to Skärhamn or stage 14 to Kyrkesund. Both stages are approximately 15 km long and run along the coast with beautiful views of the sea and islands.
Bathing is best done at one of the nice bathing spots
Rönnäng has several swimming spots to choose from, depending on whether you prefer a sandy beach, cliffs or jumping tower. One of the most popular bathing spots is Kåreviks swimming pool, which is approximately 2 km from the center of Rönnäng. Here there is a long sandy beach, cliffs, jumping tower, grassy areas, changing rooms, toilets and a kiosk. If you want a quieter bath, you can go to Snow calf, which is east of the ferry stop. There is a small bathing area with bathing ladders and jetty.
Tips on what to do in Rönnäng and the surrounding area
Rönnäng is a good starting point for that explore other islands in the archipelago. From the ferry stop, you can get to Dyrön, Åstol and Tjörnekalv with regular traffic. These islands have their own character and charm, offering opportunities for walking, cycling, fishing, food and culture.
If you want to see something different, you can go to Pilane Burial Ground, where large sculptures by international artists are exhibited every summer.

One of them is Skärgår´n Bar and Restaurant, which is located by the harbor with a view of Klövesund and Tjörnekalv. Here you can order classic dishes such as seafood soup, shrimp sandwich or hamburger, or try something more exotic such as Thai wok or sushi. Skärgår´n also has a bar with a large selection of drinks and an outdoor terrace where you can enjoy the sunset.
This is how you get to Rönnäng
Rönnäng is easy to reach by public transport from Tjörn, Stenungsund and Gothenburg. From Gothenburg you can take bus GrönX, Stenx or TjörnX. You can change in Kungälv or Nösnäs, and then go directly to Rönnäng. The trip takes about an hour and a half. If you have your own car, you can drive E6 to Stenungsund, and then follow road 160 to Tjörn. From Tjörnbroarna it is about 20 minutes to Rönnäng.
