Gullmarsstrand hotel & conference

The first hotel I want to recommend is Gullmarsstrand hotel & conference, which is beautifully located by the sea in Fiskebäckskil. Here you can experience a spa in harmony with nature, where you can swim in seawater pools, a sauna with a view of the archipelago and enjoy pleasant treatments with organic products. The hotel's concept is to offer a holistic experience for body and soul, where you can also participate in yoga, meditation and lectures. If you want to do something other than relax at the spa, you can explore the charming village of Fiskebäckskil, which has a rich history and culture. You can also take another boat trip Light wedge or Smögen, or rent a bike and discover the beautiful nature around the hotel.

At Gullmarsstrand, you can choose from several different menu packages in the restaurant, which serves delicious food with local ingredients and the delights of the sea. For example, you can try their seafood buffet, which includes lobster, crab, shrimp, mussels and oysters. Or why not their three-course menu, which varies according to season and availability. Whatever you choose, you can enjoy your meal with a fantastic view of the sea and the sunset.

If you want to book a spa weekend at Gullmarsstrand, they have several different packages to choose from. A popular option is their “Spa & Enjoy” package, which includes two hotel nights, buffet breakfast, two three-course dinners, free access to the spa and one optional 50-minute treatment per person. This package costs from SEK 2995 per person in a double room.

Price example: Double room, October 2023, 28-29 October Saturday-Sunday SEK 2,045.

Alternatively, you can book just the accommodation via hotels.com. Hotels.com offers up to 10% discount. Then you add the spa yourself for those people who want it in your company. For access to the spa department, a fee of SEK 255 per day and person is added.

VANN hotel and conference

If you want to enjoy a spa hotel with a sea view, then Vann spa hotel and conference is a perfect choice. The hotel is located by the Gullmarsfjord and has a large spa with indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam bath and relaxation room. Here you can choose between different treatments such as massages, facials, body wraps and aromatherapy. The hotel also has its own gym, a tennis court and a golf course nearby. In the evening, you can have a three-course dinner in the restaurant, which serves local produce and the delights of the sea. The hotel has several weekend packages to choose from, for example "Spa & dinner" which includes one night, breakfast buffet, spa entrance and a three-course dinner for SEK 1,495 per person.

Smögen sea bath

The third hotel I want to recommend is Smögen Hafvsbad, which is located on the picturesque island of Smögen in Bohuslän. Here you can experience a spa with a unique atmosphere, which combines the best of the sea and the land. You can swim in their salty outdoor pool, which is heated all year round, or in their indoor pool, which has a beautiful view of the rocks and the water. You can also relax in their sauna, steam bath or hot tub, or pamper yourself with one of their treatments, which use natural ingredients from the sea, such as algae, salt and mud. The hotel's concept is to offer a place for enjoyment, where you can also participate in activities such as yoga, hiking or fishing.

At Smögen hafvsbad you can eat well in their restaurant, which has a fantastic view of the harbor and the jetty. Here you can taste their signature dish, which is a seafood soup with aioli and garlic bread. You can also choose from other dishes, such as hamburgers, salad or pizza. If you want something sweet for dessert, you can try their homemade ice cream or pie.

Weekend offer at Smögen Hafvsbad

If you want to book a spa weekend at Smögen hafvsbad, they also have several different packages to choose from. A nice option is their “Spa & Sea” package, which includes two hotel nights, buffet breakfast, two three-course dinners, free access to the spa and an optional 50-minute treatment per person. This package costs from SEK 2,795 per person in a double room.

Tanumstrand, Grebbestad

The last proposal is in Tanum's Municipality in Grebbestad. If you want to enjoy a spa hotel with a location close to nature, then Tanumstrand is a wonderful choice. The hotel is located by Grebbestad and has a large spa with pools, sauna, steam bath and relaxation room. Here you can get various treatments such as massages, facials, body scrubs and mud masks. The hotel also has its own beach where you can swim or sunbathe, or rent bicycles or canoes to explore the surroundings. In the evening, you can have a delicious dinner in the restaurant, which has a menu with Nordic flavors and fresh ingredients. The hotel has several weekend packages to choose from, for example "Spa & sea" which includes one night, breakfast buffet, spa entrance and a two-course dinner for SEK 1,595 per person.

Which spa hotel is the best in Bohuslän?

If you want to have a relaxing and wonderful experience in Bohuslän, you can choose from many fantastic spa hotels. There is no one best, but it depends on what you are looking for. Some of the most famous are VANN spa hotel and conference and Tanumstrand in Norra Bohuslän. In Södra Bohuslän it is, among other things Marstrand Sea Hotel and Stenungsbaden Yacht Club.

What should I pack when I travel to my spa stay?

When packing for a spa hotel, don't forget to bring swimwear that you can use in the pool and sauna. It is also good to have comfortable clothes to relax in in the room. If you want to dress up for dinner, bring something fancy too. You don't have to worry about a bathrobe, towel and slippers, because the hotel will provide them for you.

Is there a certain time of the year when you should go to the spa?

You can go to the spa at any time of the year. There is always something to enjoy, whether it is winter or summer. In winter you can warm up in a steam sauna and in summer you can pamper yourself with a foot treatment. Most hotels are open all year round, so you can book when it suits you best.

Is it expensive to book a spa hotel trip?

You can find a spa hotel that fits your budget. There are different prices and packages to choose from. A spa hotel costs from SEK 1,000 per night, which usually includes entrance to the spa department. You can choose between a simple hotel or a luxurious castle with several pools and rooms. It's up to you how much you want to spend on your spa visit!

Summation

These were four different proposals for Spa facilities in Norra Bohuslän. Hope it inspired you to book a spa weekend at one of these facilities. In summary, it can probably be said that Smögen Hafvsbad and Tanumstrand hotels are the best when traveling with children. Medan, Gullmarsstrand Hotel and Conference and VANN hotel and conference are better suited for more adults or older children.

But, if you use the option of only booking hotel nights through hotels.com and then adding spa access to the people who want it. Where instead others in the travel party can do other activities. Then all facilities are probably more than suitable for all travel groups.
