HIKING IN GOTHENBURG
If you like walking or hiking while experiencing things, there are many opportunities to do so in and around Gothenburg. For example, you can follow one of the many trails in the city's parks, forests and nature reserves, or go out to the archipelago and experience the beautiful coastal nature. Here are some examples of hiking trails that you can try.
Center near "city walks" in Gothenburg.
Annedal: Castle forest.
Go up to one or more of the peaks and experience the view in different directions. You get to see an observatory, a water reservoir, a zoo, seal pond and many other animals and other things. Suggested start is at Agust Kobbsgatan 11. You can find the location through to press the link here Agust Kobbsgatan 11. From there you then go straight through all the mountain elevations, or zigzag by using the slightly more gentle roads that are around the area. Assume that you have a map in your mobile phone that can help you. The end of your hike can then be at the Villa Belparc restaurant in the middle of Slottskogen.
The castle forest
Above were suggestions for a trip with a fair amount of elevation gain. The tour is located in the middle of Slottskogen, one of Gothenburg's lungs. Very famous park where many events take place throughout the year. If you feel like an easier walk, you can stroll around the park through all the different paths that are available to use. Botanical Garden
If you are in Slottskogen and cross the main main road for cars, you will soon come to Botaniska. Here you can thrive in all the flowers and plants that are there. There is almost something all year round that blooms or is beautiful to look at Botanical Garden. A couple of hours can easily disappear here with experiences of plants from all corners of the world.
The meadow
When you visit the Botanical Garden, you can easily go out into the Änggården. IN The meadow or Änggårdsbergen, you have a variety of paths and trails that are very nice to hike in. There are nice viewpoints, there are ponds to barbecue at, there is the possibility for horses to ride, mountain bikes to ride. Many jog in the area. There are several possible starting points into the area, but the one listed above is a good and easy place to start.
Gullbergkajen
Down by the Göta river there are, among other things Gullbergkajen. There you can walk along the quay and look at various boats and ships. Right at Gullbergskajen there is a living community among those who have chosen to live in their boats. Interesting. In principle, you can continue walking along the quay to the west until you reach Långedrag, approximately 12 km west. At the far end, you have reached Saltholmen. Here are the directions, Gullbergsvass – Saltholmen. You will pass some less interesting places, but it is a good guide that you can use to jump on and off along the way.
Farm
Wander in Farm. Gårda can be a good area to get away from the big city pulse for a while. It is close to the center but behind all the big arenas Ullevi, Vallhalla, Skandinavium and the Swedish Fair. Nice area, but still close to the center.
Garden Association.
Gothenburg also has a park right in the center, Garden Association. Here you can stroll around for a while. Go into the palm house (pictured above) which has many different palm trees, or maybe have a coffee at one of the restaurants.
Majorna & Masthugget
Majorna and Masthugget are a popular district in Gothenburg. Walking up to Masthugg Church can be a pleasant walk. Depending on where you start, you experience slightly different things. But, Insert The masthead church on the map, and you will eventually come to a place where you can look out over the Göta River, the Älvsborg Bridge and other fine buildings.
Renströmsparken & Näckrosdammen
Another part of central Gothenburg is the area behind Göta place. There you have it Renströmsparken and Näckrosdammen. Here you can hike up to some nice viewpoints. Find the path down by the water lily pond and head south up the mountain. There is a water tower that you can use as a reference point.
Gothenburg's southern and northern archipelago
Gothenburg has a fabulously beautiful archipelago that includes many islands. Of course, these islands have nice hiking trails. Since Western traffic have trips to these islands, it is easy to get out in Gothenburg's archipelago.
Salt Island
You get out to Saltholmen, where you hop on one of the ferries and choose to hop off on one of the islands and wander around there. It's convenient, but expect that it's popular and that the hours go by quickly when you're away. Gothenburg's southern archipelago, consists of over 20 islands with different character. For example, you can visit Styrsö, which has a picturesque village center with old wooden houses, or Vrångö, which has untouched nature with sandy beaches and cliffs.

Long hiking trails along Bohuslän

Bohusleden
One of the most popular is the Bohusleden, which stretches over 370 kilometers from Lindome to Strömstad. You can hike all or part of the trail, depending on how much time and energy you have. Along the trail there are windbreaks, fireplaces and rest areas. You will see fantastic views of forests, lakes, mountains and sea.
Vättlefjäll
This is a nature reserve located north of Gothenburg, and which offers several hiking trails of different lengths and degrees of difficulty. For example, you can walk around one of the three lakes in the area, or climb one of the high peaks that offer a fantastic view of the landscape.
SWIMMING PLACES
If you want to take a dip in the salty water, there are many bathing spots to choose from in Gothenburg in Bohuslän. One of the most famous is Saltholmen, which is about 20 minutes by tram from the center. Here there are sandy beaches, cliffs, piers and jumping towers. There are also changing rooms, toilets and kiosks. Another good option is Askimbadet, which has a long sandy beach and a large lawn. Here you can also rent kayaks, SUP boards or bicycles.

Gothenburg in Bohuslän is known for its good food, especially seafood. You can enjoy fresh shrimp, crab, lobster, clams and oysters at many restaurants in the area. One of the most popular is Feskekôrka, which is a fish market and restaurant in one. Here you can buy or eat fish and seafood of the highest quality. Another tip is Sjömagasinet.
Sjömagasinet is an award-winning restaurant located by the harbor in Klippan, and which is known for its delicious fish and seafood menu. COOL TOUR & HISTORY
Gothenburg in Bohuslän has a rich culture and history to discover. You can visit museums, art galleries, theaters, cinemas or concerts. One of the most interesting museums is the Gothenburg City Museum, which tells about the city's history from ancient times to the present. Scandinavia
An arena that holds up to 12,000 spectators and is used for concerts, sporting events, fairs and shows. Many famous artists have performed here, such as ABBA, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen and Beyoncé.
Pustervik
A cultural and entertainment scene located in an old railway station. Here you can see concerts with mainly rock, pop and indie bands, as well as club nights, stand-up comedy and literature evenings.
Trädgår'n
A long-established concert venue located in the Garden Association. Here you can see concerts with different genres, such as jazz, blues, soul, funk and reggae, as well as dance to DJs and live bands.
Nefertiti
A jazz club that has existed since 1978 and is one of Sweden's leading stages for jazz music. Here you can see concerts with both Swedish and international jazz artists, as well as other music styles such as hip hop, soul and electronic music.
When you plan to book tickets for a concert, music performance or anything else that involves buying tickets, it is important to use a recognized ticket agent. We recommend using Ticketmaster or Showtic, as they are known brokers of tickets.
SUGGESTED EXCURSIONS
If you want to see more of Gothenburg in Bohuslän, you can do some fun excursions nearby. A good alternative is to take the boat to one of the islands in the archipelago, such as Vrångö, Styrsö or Brännö. Here you can walk, cycle or just enjoy nature and the peace. Another tip is to go to Marstrand, which is a picturesque coastal town with a fortress from the 17th century. Here you can also go sailing, fishing or shopping.

Amphibian on land and water
Something that is a little special is the bus-boat, called Amfibiebuss or Oceanbus, which you can travel with for an hour. Then you experience the history of Gothenburg, see different parts of Gothenburg and actually even float around on the Göta river for a while. PERFORMANCE & CONCERT
There are many concerts and performances that are free in Gothenburg. You can visit various taverns where performances take place. There are so many, so you have to keep up with who is playing when in the media.
But, one suggestion we like is to go to Liseberg's big stage. There is certainly an entrance fee to Liseberg, if you do not have a season ticket. But, then all concerts are free.

Gothenburg in Bohuslän has a lively nightlife with many bars, pubs, clubs and casinos to choose from. You can find something for all styles and tastes, from rock to pop, from beer to wine, from dance to games. Which nightclubs and pubs are most popular right now varies. However, one place that is equally popular is Liseberg, which is an amusement park and a night club complex in one. Here you can ride carousels, play games, watch shows or dance the night away. Liseberg has also now built a brand new hotel.
