The closest guest house in Grebbestad is Grebbestad Fjorden Camping, which also has guesthouses to offer. The other pension is Fjällbacka guest house & hostel which is located in Fjällbacka. When it comes to renting private houses or apartments, the range can vary somewhat during the year. Many people only open up certain periods/weeks of the year. So, you have to look around a bit. The recommendation is to use the company Cottage summer, which has many residents regardless of the season.

Another popular hiking trail is the Coast Path, which runs between Grebbestad and Fjällbacka and offers spectacular views of the archipelago. If you want a shorter walk, you can go to Vetteberget, which is Grebbestad's highest point and gives you a panoramic view of the entire town.

Bathing places
If you like swimming, you've come to the right place. Grebbestad has several nice bathing spots where you can take a dip in the salty water. One of the most popular is Grönemad, which has a long sandy beach, cliffs, piers and jumping towers. There is also a kiosk, toilets and changing rooms here. Other bathing spots that are worth a visit are Edsvik, Saltö and Ranebo. If you want a little more action, you can try one of the many water sports on offer in Grebbestad, such as kayaking, SUP, surfing or diving.

Restaurants in the area
Grebbestad is known for its seafood culture and has several restaurants serving local delicacies. A must is to taste the famous Grebbestad oysters, which are considered to be among the best in the world. You can either buy them directly from the fishermen at the harbor or order them from one of the cozy restaurants in the center. Some examples of restaurants that have oysters on the menu are Bryggan, Telegrafen and Everts Sjöbod. If you want something other than seafood, there are also other options, such as pizza, hamburgers, sushi or Thai.
If you want a good coffee or a good lunch. Then visit our favorite café, Sjögrens i Backen, which is open all year round. Culture & History around Grebbestad
Grebbestad has a rich history that stretches back to the Stone Age. You can learn more about the area's past by visiting some of the many historical sights located here. One tip is to take another trip Tanum's Rock Carving Museum, where you can see over 500 petroglyphs that are over 3000 years old. Here you can also participate in various activities, such as making your own rock carving or trying to live as if you were in the Stone Age. Another interesting museum is Ark of the Nordics, which is a zoo and a center for endangered species. Here you can see, among other things, wolves, lynx, eagles and snow leopards.

It only takes about 10-15 minutes by car or about 30 minutes by bike, from central Grebbestad, to get to Tanum Hällristningsområde. You can also visit Tanum Hällristningsmuseum which is nearby.
Inside the center, by the square, by the tourist office, is available The Fishing Museum. It is a small museum about different fishing techniques. Interesting to learn about how it goes out at sea for the fishermen and their boats.

Suggestions for excursions
If you want to explore more of Bohuslän, there are several exciting excursion destinations that you can go to from Grebbestad. One of them is Fjällbacka, which is a picturesque fishing village that has become famous through Camilla Läckberg's detective stories. Here you can stroll around the narrow alleys, visit Ingrid Bergman's Square or take a boat trip to the Väder Islands. Another tip is to go to Strömstad, which is a lively seaside town with many shops, restaurants and entertainment. Here you can also take the ferry over to The Koster Islands, which is Sweden's first marine national park.

Transport to Grebbestad
Come by car
Grebbestad is close to the main road, road 163, county road and 174, which goes all the way up from Grebbestad, down to Smögen. It is also possible to get out to the E6an motorway, if you want to transport yourself a little faster. Grebbestad is a perfect starting point for day trips.
Bring a motor home
There are no parking spaces adjacent to Grebbestad centre. The nearest pitch is in Grebbestad Sportshopen) or south in Hamburgsund.
Come by boat
In Grebbestad there are 200 guest berths. It is operated through a system called HOWEVER, SPOT, there you can book a place and read more about the service you can expect. You can also enter via hamburgsundsbokning.se if you want information on booking etc.
Come by municipal bus
Direct buses run from, among others, Uddevalla and Gothenburg. It is Västtrafik that manages these bus transports. A link to west traffic is: https://www.vasttrafik.se
For example, it takes about 2.5 hours from Gothenburg to Grebbestad.
Come by train
There is no train station nearby. The nearest train station is Munkedal or Uddevalla. However, Västtrafik, which manages the transports, combines train and bus traffic in a good way. Expect around 2.5 hours Gothenburg – Fjällbacka
Bring a bicycle
If you want to get around by bike at a slightly slower pace, there is, among other things, a bike path between Grebbestad and Fjällbacka. The website Kampersvik.com has produced one cycle path which should be okay.

The nearest airport is actually Trollhättan. But, Landvetter in Gothenburg is probably most likely to have most flights. But, the airport bus stops at xxx which is xx km from Fjällbacka.
Nightlife
Grebbestad has an active and fun nightlife that attracts many visitors. There are several pubs, bars and nightclubs where you can dance, drink and mingle with others. A popular place is Greby's, which has live music, karaoke and theme nights. Another option is The sea wall, which is an outdoor arena by the sea where concerts, shows and festivals are organised. If you want a more relaxed evening, you can have a drink at one of the nice outdoor restaurants in the center or at the port.
