There are several different accommodation options in the area around Hamburgsund, depending on your budget and taste. Most are not in the absolute center, but nearby. Hiking in the area
Hamburgsund is surrounded by fantastic hiking trails suitable for all levels. For example, you can follow the Soteleden, a 70 kilometer long trail that runs along the coast and through forests, meadows and mountains. Or you can try the Kuststigen, a 370 kilometer trail that stretches from Svinesund to Grebbestad.
Hike in Hamburgsund
You can wander around the small community. Walk along the canal and watch passing boats. There are old buildings with the feel of the old Bohuslän, and also see the newly built areas that characterize the new Bohuslän. This walk takes about 30 minutes at a normal pace. It works both for wheelchairs and for people with old legs, as it is asphalt all the way.
Hamburgsund also has a car ferry that goes over to Hamburgö. If you get over there, you will find hiking trails out among the rocks and in the forest that is there. There are good parking spaces adjacent to the hiking trails. You experience the rocks, the mighty sea that hits the rocks, forest, farm animals that graze on the rocks in the summer. These relatively easy walks or hikes take 30 minutes to a couple of hours.

Bathing places
If you want to take a dip in the salty water, there are several swimming spots to choose from in Hamburgsund. For example, you can swim at Sandön's bathing area, which has both a sandy beach and cliffs, or at Källvik's bathing area, which has a long jetty and jumping tower. If you want a little more adventure, you can rent a kayak or a boat and explore the many islands and bays in the area. Otherwise, there is also the Boviken bathing area and "turn around again". Check with the local shops to be explained where it is.
Hamburgsund is perhaps not the best option to choose for swimming, at least not in Hamburgsund's harbour. But, if you take the ferry over to Hamburgö, about a 3-minute ferry ride. There you will find many suitable places for bathing, after a few minutes' drive or around 20 minutes' walk. The goal is thus to get over to the west side of the island. Restaurants in the area
When you get hungry, there are plenty of restaurants in Hamburgsund serving both local specialties and international dishes. For example, you can eat fresh fish and seafood at Restaurant Bryggan, which has a cozy outdoor terrace by the harbour, or at the Fish Shop by the ICA store. Hjalmar's Bar & Brewery is otherwise a safe card. Hamburgsund is not a large settlement, so it is short between the places. There are at least 5 restaurants or eateries that are only a few meters away from the canal. most of the menus focus on fish dishes, but there is also a pizzeria, a fast food restaurant. The ice cream bar is not to be missed. The ice cream comes from the company PIPERS ice cream, which is a high-quality ice cream.
Culture & History
Hamburgsund has a rich history that stretches back to the Stone Age. You can learn more about the area's culture and history by visiting some of the many attractions found here. For example, you can see the famous petroglyphs at the Vitlycke museum, which is a world heritage site, or the impressive caves at Västerberget. Nightlife
If you want some partying and dancing after a day full of activities, Hamburgsund might not be the place. But, of course, the local taverns are open. If you want more variety, you can go to, for example, Fjällbacka, Smögen or Lysekil, which have more nightclubs and discotheques.
Transport
Come by car
It is easy to get here by car. Hamburgsund is close to the main trail that goes all the way up from Grebbestad, down to Smögen. So, it is easy to go on day trips and then return in the evening

There is a parking space for mobile homes in Hamburgsund. 16 places are offered. You will find it at this place, 58° 33.6 N, 11° 16.8 E. A little north of Hamburgsund.
There is also a pitch further south, almost into Gerlesborg. Middalar called the place.
Come by boat

Come by municipal bus

Come by train

Bring a bicycle
You cycle on the motorway mostly if you have to get between nearby communities. Many people who cycle use the road and it usually works well, as motorists are often very considerate.
